that sram looks like some cheap shimano from the 80's. I wonder if this is a leak from shimano with the sram looking crap and the XTR looking bling, just to show that shimano are still on top of the game.

omg, i think im going to be sick. xtr seems to look worse every time a new version appears. 2011 will be a sad year...

Shimano have probably not even presented this to distributors yet which might explain thread closure. Normal presentation date for new product to OEMs and distributors is normally late january.

10 X 2 XTR was never going to be the surprise of the decade. I was told that "you are on the right lines" when I asked a loaded question way back last May.

Was shown preview of 2011 SRAM last week. No big surprises in store but a few things from XX will filter down to XO.

Me? I'm sticking with 9-speed until 10-speed chains improve in terms of durability.

Well the X.0 looks cheap and nasty to me and SIS gearing of a kids bike.

No comment on the XTR as it just looks like a redesign of the current blended with the M960 series.
Does either have anything technically superior to add to the groupset ?
10 speed yes but then I've not ridden 9 speed yet

I'm more impressed back by their 'comfort' groupsets that I saw on Shimano's website a month or so ago with the Di2 stuff and electronic suspension. Dynamo hubs etc to power it all etc..
