2008 Re-issue Zaskars

I know of a few folks who have gone for the modern carbon Zaskar from Wiggle, to cut a long story short, two frames went straight back to Wiggle.

Wiggle are taking their time in replacing them too, their customer service seems to have gone to pot lately, although I've not had any issues (last ordered from Wiggle 3 months ago though)

Nah, not for me.

The best Zaskar's are early 90's ones ;)

Thankyou ..... Agreed !!!! (sudden panic at the thought of mine being worth a tenner suddenly !!) :?

I really doubt they have 36 in inventory...Most countries sold out of their inventory in Re-issue frames by August. A few had two sizes remaining.

I have two put away in their original boxes and have no plans to touch them for another 20 years. As to the early 90's Zaskars...well let's just say the inventory's good on those too.

Why do you doubt, wiggle's inventory is pretty good and that's a minimum of 36 ;-)

People just do not want them for that sort of price. Easy enough to understand.

Do the math...only 500 where made...and 80 went to one country in Europe and 130 went to another country in Europe. That leaves 290 for the rest of the world. One of mine came from the UK because US inventory in Larges sold out and that was the first week of August. Now... you try and tell me one GT retailer still has 36. No, I really think they are just lazy about adjusting their on line inventory. It's called marketing 101 and they did this just because they knew someone at Retrobike would give them thousands in free advertising when posting it. If they do have 36... someone at Wiggle is getting fired (our ex-purchasing managers worst mistake) because they don't know their customers very well and goofed big time and are selling inventory at cost.

Give em a ring and find out.
I believe there stock levels (small at 5 now, 1 has sold I guess So the stock must have been updated ). A company that size in the market and advanced in the online world would not be using constant manual stock taking and updating of the online site.
More like check order is ok, click database button... I don't think they do auto remove from site numbers as the multitude of payment mentods and checking would mess it up.

Why would they think retrobike would give them free advertising (though they have) :D , why would they care of a small online community site. It was just sent in their general customer email everyone gets.

They've had a hard time selling the limited edition Mint Sauce Felts (Mint Sauce being a big selling buzz as well, especialy to UK retro bikers)

I would just put it down to the fact anyone interested in the UK would just buy an original retro model. No offence ment to GT lovers, I just think there is a lack of love in the UK for GT's and given we are stingy buggers would better put our money elsewhere.

Of course if anyone here works/worked for Wiggle they could put us straight ;)

Feel free to buy another one, wiggle do worldwide free shipping (not sure of min spend to USA though)

CTC members get a discount as Wiggle now run the CTC store. You could get your Zaskar even cheaper!
