2005 Rocky Mountain Blizzard

A productive morning. Forks on, rear mech, cassette and wheels on...Some nice hope hoops 😎 although I don't think the tyres will stay, I want something a bit lighter and faster rolling for the canal paths I tend to ride.

Still undecided on the stem and bar combo yet too. White and black, or black and black. But these were lying around in the garage so it at least the bike can come together.

Playing around with stem and bar combinations. I think I'm preferring the black and black and flat bar as opposed to riser 🤔

Shifters and brakes put on this morning. And the bike came with silver cable guides, so have changed for black.... As of course they match 🙈

Just seen this, nice to see the progress and looking good with white forks and black post. You're clearly more of a tart than I am
Haha... I'm still undecided on the forks. Might put those vanillas back on and see what they look like 🙈

Tart... I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or not 😂

Finally finished the rocky today. Few little changes with colours etc so they match 🙈 and some new tyres... Thanks racerx... And that rear mech was an absolute pain to get right! But with that shimano b link it now works perfectly

Very nice! What size frame is that? I have a 2010 NOS 18.5-inch (dunno if that qualifies as retro) and a 2011 Blizzard LT (Long Travel) 19.5. Love those Blizzards and would love a 90s/early 2000 one if I could find one here in Australia.

I like that a lot 😎 didn't know they did a lt version

Mines a 19.5...and unfortunately not had the chance to go for a proper ride yet! Hopefully over this Easter weekend

H mate. That’s the “regular” 2010 Blizzard in that pic (it’s a very nice bike!). I have attached a pic of the LT here. They only made the LT for one year (2011) as a frame-only and it’s 4130 steel compared to the Columbus Zona steel in the 2010 red/white one. So it’s a bit beefier and I run a Fox 36 fork on it. It’s an absolute hoot to ride!
EDIT: you will love that Blizzard - I only wish Rocky still made them.
