I recently bought the frame and forks off ebay. I've got some parts for it, but until I start to assemble it, I'm not sure which ones will look best :?

I'm currently thinking all silver / grey. Anyone agree that could look good?

Also, the serial number has me stumped. It's under some very thick paint so is hard to read, but I think it's 094d16. This seems to be 1 digit short of the normal IF serial numbers?

All silver and grey sounds good, as does the spec. The only thing I would change is the rear hub for a dedicated singlespeed one. I love my Hope trials one but there are a few tasty options out there.

Look forward to seeing this built up. IF's are (nearly) always nice.

Finished! For now... I wanted a fairly plain build so the frame was the standout component.
I bought the bars because they were cheap off the On-One website, but I must say that I'm impressed with them.

I've looked at the serial number again, I'd missed a digit
This is the current spec:

094d416 frame serial no.
52m439 fork serial no.

Frame: IF Steel Deluxe SS with Phil Wood ebb in Vanilla Shake

Fork: IF straight-blade rigid unicrown in Vanilla Shake

Headset: King ti
Stem: Thomson Elite 110 x 5 black
Handlebar: On-One Fleegle pro silver
Grips: Wilkos foam

Brakes: Avid BB7
Brake Cables: Clarks coated
Brake Levers: Paul v brake levers

Cassette: Gusset ss spacers & 16t sprocket
Chain: SRAM pc870
Cranks: White Industries US made
Chainrings: Pace 38t middle ring
Chainring bolts: Aluminium single ring bolts
Bottom Bracket: White Industris ti
Pedals: DMR V-12 Mags

Hub Skewers: Dt Swiss
Rims: Dt Swiss XR 1450
Hubs: Dt Swiss XR 1450
Tyres: Continental X-King Race Sport 2.4
Tubes: Continental mtb 26 1.75-2.5

Saddle: Flite Alpes black
Seatpost: Thomson Elite 29.4 in-line black
Seatpost Binder: dkg

Weight: 21.6lb

I'm not keen on the DT skewers, the brakes obstruct them, so I may swap for Control Tech ti Allen key skewers.
I also have a white perforated Flite on the way for it, and I'm undecided about the black stem and post. I have a ti Syncros post for it, but not a suitable silver stem as yet.
Regarding a singlespeed hub, ideally, I'd want one, but these wheels were an eBay bargain ;)

That's a great/solid build you have there. Don't worry about hubs or skewers; just ride it! Thomson stuff is great and I would just ride it now :D

This post is a birthday bump for my newest bike! She turns 10 tomorrow!
I contacted IF last year to purchase a partial decal set, and they told me that she was welded up on 5/03/04! Also, their customer service is excellent, they gave me the decals I wanted for postage costs only.

I know she's non-retro but everybody deserves a little love on their birthday.

Cheers,
