2000 Kona Blast

This is my 2000 Kona Blast SE - a bike I first had when I was 15.

Had a lot of good times on this and now want to give it a new life and ride it again!

It's been in a garage for the past 10-12 years or so, filthy but will clean up I'm sure.

Club Roost stem and bars, Club Roost saddle, Mavic D521 - front wheel missing.. the rear rim is very concave and looks a lit unsafe to ride now. Tioga DH tires, Power Tools front v, Avid rear v brake.
I used to have a DCD, nowhere to be found. Pedals also missing..

Thinking 1x drive, new forks, front disc..

So happy- finished the clean/rebuild.
Kept mostly the same due to not wanting to spend a huge amount, this is the 6th bike in the garage now and I spend most of my time on the road bikes.

Biggest change is the 1x drive. Deore 10 speed with a zee shifter. Chinese oval chain set connected to Planet X pedals.
Recycled an old Hayes MX2 mech disc given to me by my brother. Always wanted a disc bike when I was 15!

Budget wheel set from Taylor in Germany. Tan wall Schwalbes looks amazing to my eye!

Grips are a bit tatty- on the look out some some Yetis that I used to have on there.

Further jobs- bottom bracket. It’s knackered but still spins. Will do in Autumn- don’t want to be stuck with half a bb right now (most LBS have a few weeks backlog of jobs).
Headset has also seen better days. It’s ridable but will change ASAP.

Finally add on the Wahoo mount and head out to Surrey Hills. Very happy!
