it's an odd concept I give you that. I remember seeing a 2 wheel drive motorbike once at a motor show, but never a mountain bike!
 
In velo vert , a french mag , there was a review of a 2x2 , in the mid nineties . with chain running along the frame and forks .

it was running fine , but was really heavy .

Awesome...like a giant Dremel tool extender.
Cable probably weighs the same as 5 AMP forks.

There was another one of these concepts that made it to some kind of semi-production...chain attached to the handlebars - when you yank up on the bars, it gives you a good turn or two on the front wheel. Seem to remember MBA saying it was pretty useful.
 
This has been posted in MTB chat- I'm desparate to find out more on this as i have been working on my own 2WD design on and off for the last 20 years. Could you scan the article Mr Pounces?? Is it en Francaise??

I would love to see that article again! It was called the 'Snake' and it was blue. Please scan it monsieur :cool:
