the gents one is done. after lots of scraping, sanding ,and polishing has come out well i think.

the ladies is an unknown brand to me. is it a department store brand?
24" x 1"3/8ths wheels, simplex gears.

Petworth House were a mail order company. Did stuff like table tennis tables, snooker tables and the like as well as bikes if I remember right. I had a very cheap 5 speed racer from them when I was 11 (xmas 1983 cheers santa, or not) that had exactly the same bars, brake levers, gear levers and grips as that ladies pic.
 
yeas I would say the racer is for a young girl. 24" wheels are ussually for around 11 to 14 years old.

I had those simplex shifters on my Viking. I carried a stubby screwdriver in my pocket as they kept on loosening off.

That gents Raleigh is a handsome bike. Looks like early 80s too

It's quite unusual to find a drop barred road bike with 26 x 1 3/8" rims, I bet they also did a roadster with the same frame.
Liking that big gents Raleigh, BTW. I have an absolutely enormous stockpile of early parts for those, if you're ever looking. ;)
