1999 Kona Explosif Seatpost size?

Just bought one of these and it came with a USE suspension post. I'm not a fan of suspension posts so I am replacing it with a rigid post. I just tried it for size and a 27.2 feels too tight while a 27.0 seems a tad slack.
I have measured it with my verniers but the reading depends where I measure on the circumference, see photos. Between 27.0 and 27.2.
Anyone have a definitive answer on this one.

95% sure they are 27.0mm but will check next time I make a foray into my garage
