1999 GT XCR 4000

I'm looking at a GT XCR 4000 from 1999. Looks in good condition and recently serviced. Whilst I quiet like the look of it, are these any good and what should I expect to pay ? Avid and Shimano equiped. Judy Fork.

Sounds exactly like the one I bought in 1999. Is it red? Must admit I never got on with it. It was bought to get me back into mtb's but I sold it on virtually unused 6 years later. I think the main problem was the weight. Others on here like 'em though.

I seem to recall reading about the section holding the seat post in was prone to damage on these?

Might be worth checking for signs of stress or cracking
