Sold 1998 Specialized Stumpjumper M2 Comp Orange Large

Reluctant sale of my M2. I had this new back in the day when I ran a bike shop in Gerrards Cross with my dad. Would love to keep it but simply do not have room and have bought a modern trail bike to keep up with my teenage son who is more interested in BPW than XC...would like it to go to a retro bike enthusiast...

Originally used for XC races locally - Gorrick, SAMS etc - so has some battle scars but in good condition for a 25 year old bike.

Forks were replaced about 20 years ago - now RockShox Duke - and have not been serviced since - they still hold air though, just topped up this week. Original XT shifters and V Brakes, Specialized Strong Arm chainset, XTR reverse action rear mech (a bit tired but I have a nearly new period XT available if wanted). Front wheel original, I re-rimmed the rear wheel back in the day with a Mavic x221. Stout front hub, Specialized bar ends (!), original Ritchey Bars, seat post & SPD Pedals. There is a small hole in the back of the seat post where the saddle back must have rubbed. Tyres are pretty tired (excuse the pun) but saw me round a very wet Verderers and Freeminers at Easter. I may have a similar vintage Specialized rear tyre stashed away somewhere you could have also.

Collection from Oxford or I can courier in UK for £50. I'm looking for £275 ono.

That hole in the seat post is a design feature that makes them lighter than the other versions that are'nt hollow. When new they have a sticker over the top to prevent water getting in.
