1998 Psycle Werks Wild Hare(s)

Wild Hare

Devout Dirtbag
After a long time out of the hobby, I decided to get back into it. Over the years I've randomly searched for my dream frame from the late 90's. A Psycle Werks Wild Hare. I remember seeing one in a shop back in 1999 but couldn't afford a $1200 frame... fast forward to thanksgiving 2015, a random eBay search yielded a pristine 1998 Blue Anodized frame and the rest is history.... some Internet searching for old school 90's bike candy landed me a membership here and I've been able to score some great parts from fellow members. Here is what I have so far... oh and I'm also building a second polished Wild Hare... stand by for that one, too...

wonderful!
only the saddle looks like too comfortable to this kind of bike... and that enormous bar ends...
without barends, with an old SLR saddle it will be an amazing bike!!!

Thanks. I'm actually going to ride it, hence the seat, lol. I've actually had that seat since 1999. Those bar ends are just temporary. I have bigger ones on the way. ... hyperend guardians!! I had them on my Jamis back in the late 90's and they served me well. The black headset spacers are temps, too.

Thank you, Sir. Yesterday I swapped the rear triangle from the other frame so that I could mount the rear brakes. I also got the Hyperend guardians in the mail and put those on as well. Once I get the rear cassette and chain I'll take it for a spin!

The Other polished frame has an AMP B3 carbon fork. King headset Thomson post, Taperlite bars, Hyperends, Top Line crank, White Industries Wheelset, Speedplay Frog pedals, Avid Ultimate levers and Arch supreme brakes as well.. up front at least until I can get the whole rear triangle sorted...

Update... I got new Selle Anatomica seats for both bikes. What a difference! I also took the hare out for it's maiden voyage. Such a fantastic ride. After riding my rockhopper hardtail it felt like going from a Yugo to a Rolls Royce!
