Old School Hero
Hi all.
A 1998 19" Marin eldridge grade frame. I love this frame, but it has mashed up my back and I'm going for more modern geometry from now on. Very nice custom triple butted tange cro-mo frame with lots of scratches, chips and general paint wear, but no dings or dents to the tubes themselves. Really springy to ride.
I've got a few bits that go with it:
1: Manitou Spyders in OK condition - still bounce and are fine on a warm day or after a few miles on a cold day (elastomers  ) SOLD
2: Rigid, modern and very light but tough (disc and vee) alu fork by Mosso that matches the a-c of the spyders, giving the option to run the frame without suspension (as I did). Cosmetically pretty badly scratched but functionally absolutely fine. Lots of steerer, but really badly cut at the top - can measure if needed.
3: Original silver alu Marin stem and riser bars - decals and finish quite scratched, but again structurally sound.
So, prices (paypal gift only, posted to your door):
Frame: £70
Manitou Spyders: £SOLD
Stem and bars: £10 each
Mosso fork: £35
Will throw in original (serviceable but grungy) 1998 diacompe headset with frame.
OR... I will swap some/all for a modernish (2002 onwards) steel frame of decent quality, preferably with SS adaptable dropouts, but this is not essential. Cosmetic condition not important.
PICS (rotated by Flickr :? sorry!):
Manitou Spyders (SOLD):
Mosso forks:
Bar and stem:
PLEASE NOTE - First preference given to anyone who wants to keep the frame/forks stem/bars together as they are all original and would make a lovely restoration project.
POST HERE AND THEN PM PLEASE. PRIORITY BY 1: WHOLE LOT SALE TO ONE BUYER, 2: POST ORDER IN CASE OF DISPUTE. TA!
(I have trouble getting to the post office except on saturdays so posting won't be instant on bigger bits)
