1998 Kona Explosif work in progress

A minor upgrade to the '98: having enjoyed riding it a lot this summer, I felt that a couple of bar ends would help with the slightly-too-small frame (along with that horrible setback seatpost). As the bike's in a bit of a tatty condition, I thought these X-Lites in well-used condition would be suitable. I really like the industrial knurling and the short design -- I'm not a fan of bendy, curly ones. Having found a silver pair for my Unit, I felt red would work a little better with this bike's overall colour scheme. And after riding today, I think this is a most worthy addition.

Where is that nice atom bom!! I have one Z2 atom bom and works fine. :)

I remember that frame sold in that colour but not in 1998, a bit later with a SID, in 1998 the fork was the Judy SL (or Indy SL) and frame was yellow like the fork. In other countries the Z2 atom bom was the fork. I don´t know the reason, perhaps because Rock shox was more popular in XC in my country and the dealer choose like that, to be light weight.

Enjoy it! 👍 :)
