Hey all, i'm new here but thought i'd join & post some pics of my '98 Mantra Race... until I discovered I need to post twice before adding pics. anyway...

haha, cheers mate - just been looking at yours in fact, the version with the triple clamps was the one I first seen in the bike shop & totally loved it!
I almost went with a set of Spins for this one infact, then I picked the Crossmax up on ebay a couple of years ago - I do like the all black wheels, almost looks like a set of aero road wheels from a distance!

Yeah your right about how the wheels look, very cool .

I def think the triple clamps work really well on these frames... Even if slightly overkill. Def not changing mine anytime soon

How much travel do the Manitous on yours have? The Judys on mine are adjustable between 60-80-100mm & I think it handles best with 80mm+ as it lessens the effect of the head angle steepening under braking if the fork compresses slightly.

I'm not entirely sure to be honest, 120mm maybe?.... It's quite high up front though. My Mtn Goat is so pin sharp that I kind of wanted something slightly more relaxed with the Mantra.... I dare say to many it would feel to lazy but it's still very responsive overall.
