Retro Newbie
A GT Outpost – from 1998. This was my Dad’s bike which he owned from new. I inherited it when he moved house a couple of years ago with the intention of using it as a pub bike. My first MTB was a Talera from 1997 but I secretly always wanted the Aluminium one my Dad had. However I don’t really need it any more and would value the space in my garage.
It’s been used very little – as evidenced by the fact that it’s remarkably “period” and still has the original tyres. It has some wider riser bars (Qrank?) which are not OEM but were installed from the shop in 1998. The seat post is from an old road bike and the seat came on my mountain bike (it’s essentially unused, I’d actually like to keep this but it’s the only spare seat I have). I will swap the SPD pedals for some cheapo flats unless it’s a dealbreaker.
I think it’s a 19″ but I couldn’t find an actual size printed anywhere. At any rate it’s the right size for my Dad and I (both 6′).
The bike seat attachment you can see on the seat tube is not included.
Collection only for now – I’m in Sheffield. Happy to entertain any offers.
