I've decided to save this old beater that I bought a year back, well, turn it into a singlespeed and clean it all up - thing is it came with 100mm Tora TKs on the front - i ride them locked out, and got on fine with the geometry as is (not counting the ultra stubby stem that was originally fitted), but now want to lighten the load and go back to P2s or similar - so :

what length is 1. Recommended and 2. Upper safety limit?

Cheers :D

Might be useful.

Also, I have some (slightly scuffed but never used) 440 a-c disc and V compatible P2s bought in error for (iirc) £65 inc postage, if that turns out to be what you're looking for...

Running 420 mm on my 98 lava dome which I think is correct it seems about right to me think thats equivalent to 80 mm travel suspension I know some like you have run 100mm travel so that would take rigid to 440mm which slackens the angle but raises the bottom bracket

Thanks folkses, looks like 420 or 440 then

dyl, thnks, under consideration, prob trying the toras for a while once i get up to singlespeed, see if i like the whole shebang before splashing out, could you pm me pics tho pls?

is the actual item I bought. There's one not especially enlightening photo there, and I can take some more when I'm home after the weekend if you're interested.

I've now got 400mm forks on my 1998 steel GT which seem ok so far, maybe a bit short but I think 440 would be too long so the P2s are probably going to be spare.
