A few build notes: I have used Deore cranks on a 118mm bb for a relatively low q factor of 165. The chainring is a 34 t with a 7 speed cassette, which is plenty for the country roads and forest trails with hardly any inclines we have here. The saddle is a Brooks type by Selle Monte Grappa. The derailleur is a Tiagra 9 speed, the hubs are lx from about twenty years apart and the brakes are Avid. Nothing is period correct, size, fit and simplicity were the primary concern. Well spotted. The old one was heavy and scabby. I still need to fit a new front brake cable and it will be a few months before I can ride it and take better pics. I am happy with the look though.
