1997 SUNN XIRCUIT PLUS frame **SOLD**

As described...

An original and interesting Sunn Xircuit Plus frame.

Medium size measuring 16 inches centre to top of top tube and 17 3/4 inches centre to top of seat tube.

Top tube length is 22 inches.

Polished un-laquered chrome as it left the facory. Decals have been removed but new ones can be obtained from
Gil M on this forum should you need them.

No dinks or dents and in fantastic condition! Ive given this a little extra elbow grease but would shine up even better with half an hour and a little autosol/metal polish.

High end and lightweight Sunn frame which has very 'Kona esque' geometry.

£100 inc postage and packaging to mainland UK.

Have never built it up but just tried a 26.8 and although it initially goes in is too tight.

Measures 26mm internal diameter by my tape measure. Quick search on threads on here would suggest it to be 26.4mm?

What's the headtube dia? And did this come with rigids or sus originally. If what sort of travel 60? 80?

In answer to above....

Takes 1 1/8 steerer. Head tube is 11.5cm in length.

Frame serial number starts '96' so research suggests this is a 96 but more likely 97 model.

Previous owner claimed top tube decal was blue so this again suggests 97.

The xircuit came in rigid and hard tail guide with the front suspension fitted hard tail being called the xircuit plus and max.

Geometry remained same. Sure the obys factory fork was 60/80mm. Rigid would have had axle to crown of 390mm.

Lots of people on here go on to fit rigid kona p2's or similar with 390 or 420mm length depending on type of ride they want.
Marzocchi bombers from same era also very popular.

I'm sure some die hard sunn fans may be able to confirm but hope this helps.

Search on this model and year on here returns some lovely examples and builds....almost makes me reconsider the sale! :facepalm:

Its a 97 frame as there was no Xircuit model in the 96 range. If it did have a blue top tube sticker then it would have been a Xircuit +. The difference between the Xircuit, Xircuit + and Xircuit Max models was just component spec.
The frames are identical (Tange DB tubing) and you could get hard and soft tail versions of each. You could also choose between a rigid fork or one of Sunn's Obsys forks with either 32, 40 or 55mm of travel. The only recommendation was not to go for rigid forks on a soft tail frame.
Seatpost diameter is indeed 26.4mm.
