Will you be telling the guys st work you polished the Porsche at weekend
whilst I like cars...they know me well enough at work to know that I'd never buy a real Porsche as I spend all my pocket money on bikes
The elastomers from Suspension fork parts duly arrived….
Well not strictly true what arrived was the obligatory card from Royal Mail advising the UK Boarder Agency were holding my parts to ransom until the VAT/import Duty was paid
Not un expected by never the less a P.I.T.A as it delays things by a day or two and involves a trip to the sorting office
Probably the most expensive re-fresh kit sold by S.F.P but when you get two bags busting at the seams I could see why it pushed the price northwards
20 x Compression and 8 x Rebound plus 2 packets of Jonny Snot
I’ve gone from a tub of greasy biscuit crumbs
To these bad boys, mounted on the skewer prior to final re-assembly and applying the grease and fitting the shaft in the fork leg, skinny one for rebound larger ones for compression
The forks now feel great and since they no longer sag the ride height for the bars has greatly increased, what did come as a surprise is when you compress them you sure can here the air rushing out of the small hole in each leg,
I've got Atmosphere balanced Pace forks but they're quiet as a church mouse wearing slippers, these sound like a blood hound having a good old sniff and snort every time they compress/rebound.
Although I'm not a heavy rider and not typically aggressive as far as drops or jumps go and prefer to ride over rather than plough through things I'm glad I went with Firm Elastomers, dunno what soft would be like other than disappointing but Firm is spot on just need to get and button things up now
Looking forward to riding them now and see what they properly feel like
