1997??? Orange Clockwork (Imported Frame)

Does this get me into retro bike club? I think I bought the frame in '97 from a German bike shop from an advert in the back of MBUK?? at the time, as it was cheaper to buy it from there than in the UK. Built it up and changed parts over the years, now it's just hanging on the wall but I love so much that I think it's due for a restoration. The seat (Avocet O2), seat post & Cane Creek headset are still original and I think I still have the Pace RC36's lying in the garage somewhere. It's a bit unusual as I've never seen another with the dark green colour and yellow frame decals.

Think that's the 10 year anniversary edition? 1997 would be about correct.

Very nice with the project 2s.

Those Pace sell for good money and you can still buy replacement parts so worth holding onto or selling.

Welcome to the site by the way!

Hi, thank for the reply & welcome. :) I don't believe it is a 10th anniversary edition although the frame colour appears to be the same. The decals are the wrong colour and wrong design and there's no anniversary sticker either. Maybe a 10th anniversary edition frame that was shipped abroad for export so didn't get the same decals???

Looks like a 97 to me so the year before the anniversary version and first Clockwork after the C16. Very nice btw and defo welcome in here. I've seen other Oranges from that era in that colour so I don't think it was export only. Tidy either way. :xmas-big-grin:

Thanks, she's not in too bad nick considering her age and amount of miles we've done together. :) The frame has no dents or dings whatsoever just some bad scratches and scuffs etc. If the Pace forks are still worth money and parts are available then I'll definitely dig them out, hopefully the stanchions and aluminium bits haven't corroded as garage they are in is not the driest :(.
