19" frame.
£135 ovno collected from Worcs.
Time to cull owing to injury/life commitments having me off any meaningful cycling for a few years now.
'Walter' vinyl decals can be removed for sale. Has done very few miles (still have same tyres hardly showing any wear, have since fitted Landcruisers, also virtually zero wear) since I built it up. Has been stored in shed. Gutted to sell after all the upgrades and time spent but it's just sitting there could do with being both enjoyed and cared for.
Pictured when rebuilt, polished and fitted with Marathon Racers:
Original thread http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... p;start=10
Spec/upgrades:
Frame: RSP 'full cromo series one' - 19 inch (original factory 'Granite cromica' colour paint in good order)
Headset: RSP/Diatech
Stem: RSP Polished Alloy 125mm
Handlebar: Titanium straight bar
Grips: Bike Hut lock-on
Brakes: Avid 2.5 V's
Brake Levers: Avid Speed Dial 7 (polished)
Brake pads: XT cassette type
Brake Cables: Clarks premium
Shifters: XT thumbshifters
Front Derailleur: Shimano Acera
Rear Derailleur: Shimano XT M739
Cassette: Shimano XT
Cranks: Shimano XT M730 (refurbished/polished)
Chainrings: Shimano XT
Bottom Bracket: Shimano UN72
Hub Skewers: Shimano XT
Rims: Sun Chinook (polished)
Spokes: Wheelsmith stainless
Hubs: Shimano XT M730
Tyres: Schwalbe Marathon
Saddle: -
Seatpost: RSP polished alloy
Bar Ends: RSP polished w/ Charge U Bend tape
Mudguards: generic Chromoplastic (55mm) with stainless stays
Pedals: Toe-clip type not sure of model.
- Saddle (doesn't come with saddle but bar-end tape is matched to a tan Charge Spoon)
- I replaced the original gripshifts with some XT thumbies. They work lovely but please note they only work in friction mode.
- Changed mudguards for some closer colour-matched generic (thermoplastic) ones
Bits to re-restore: A little storage rust on a few brake-block bolts so could do with new ones purely for cosmetic reasons. A scrape in the lacquer on the headtube from a hastily-fitted basket. Also the ti bars have some crimping at the ends from internally fixed bar ends so up to buyer if want to risk that, I've never worried/bothered. Crankset and rims could do with a buff/polish to bring back the gleam! Paintwork in V good condition for age just a few marks overall but no rust or dents. XT (UN72) B/B running smoothly. Bike needs a clean and polish but mechanically great and runs very well.
Included extras:
- Schwalbe Landcruiser tyres (fitted) hardly any wear.
- (Existing Marathon Racer tyres are also included with hardly any wear)
- Toeclips and straps
Looking for £135 ono collected from Malvern/Worcs. Can deliver in 30 mile radius.
