So like many I spotted this one a while back. I'm taking a big punt but from what I could tell and based on what the seller has told me, this was as good as original example as you'll see these days.
I'll be splitting this. Ok, calm down at the back. All of the kit bar the seat-post, headset and BB will be going onto a 97 Manomano. I want to build that as close to the original catalogue / of the era specification as possible so when I saw this I was proper interested.
I've gone through the costing and to have tried to have purchased those components separately (wheels, tyres, mechs, bar, shifters, saddle, levers, etc, etc) I would be looking at a pretty hefty sum.
I know the final price here was crazy high. However I know I'll recoup some of the outlay on the sale of the frame (it's too small for me), forks and seat-post - not all, but some. I think we can all relate to spending a bit too much of those items we really want to finish off the builds of our choice, and this is such a case.
So, hopefully I'll pick it up this weekend. If you're interested in the frame / fork combo then look out for it in the coming weeks. Finally, if you were the rival bidder who made me part with this much cash - thanks for that
