I know what you mean about posts, can't believe it's so difficult. The best, which are still pretty poor especially weight wise, are the Tioga T-Bone posts in black on eBay. There is a Kona Racelight post ending today but it's a layback, not sure if that's any good for you.

I'll go through the foreign shops today and see if I can come up with a Thomsom Elite or Tune. If I find anything I'll drop you a line.

Been checking through the shops and these are the best prices I've found for Thomson and Tune posts. Posted it here in case anyone else is looking for one.

Thompson Elite, there are a few places in the UK that sell the 27.0mm in black but for £70+, no way I’m paying that much of a premium. Not seen any that sell it in silver. The cheapest I've found is:

I've never heard of Tune before...are they a new brand?

No they've been around since about the early 90's, their alloy stuff hasn't really changed in that time.

The forks and wheels arrived today.

The wheels are Mavic Crossmax SL SSC's, ceramic, 18 spoke radial front, 20 spoke rear, radial drive side, 2x non drive. Think they're from 2000. Claimed weight is 1580g. They’ve come with Schwalbe 2.0 Fast Fred UST’s but think they might have tubes fitted.

Wasn't sure they'd suit it but they look fine. Mainly silver but a flat silver, not polished.

The Chain Reaction bits have just arrived too.

Received an email from Kapz this morning with the art work for the top cap, based on my 1st idea, which came with the message "THIS WILL BE EPIC!!", which is good to know!

The Avid Ultimates arrived today. Unsurprisingly, considering how much they cost new, they seem very well made. I especially like the levers. On the back of the levers is printed the date they were made, in this instance 16th May 2006. They came with the noodles also cables and a spare spring kit.

Was bored so test fitted the parts, used the temporary seatpost. Waiting to get hold of my brother as he has the tools. Still think the chainring on 1xn look stupid but it's starting to look like a bike. Sneak peek...
