1997 Kona Hahanna

Just picked up for £30. All original as far as I can see except the tyres. Needs some love, but should come up nicely. My first project, so I hope to have regular progress reports!

The beauty of this age of Kona (i've a karma offer on a '97 Koa at teh mo) is that nearly all of the stuff modern and retro will fit.

but i'm sure you know that already.

Rear cones needed replaced, obviously been rattly for a while, fortunately the hub was OK. Other than that just some rusty bolts to replace, maybe some shorter bar ends, some m737 spds and some Schwalbe land cruisers and I have my fairweather commuter. Photos up soon (just need a sunny day)..

Day of sun finally arrives in Wales, and on my day off!! Let restoration commence. Turns out the front tyre is the original sniff with great tread and no cracks! The grips have split sadly, oh and the seatpost was stuck in, go it out intact after 1 hour, 2 coffees and a cut hand...
Anybody have spare circa 97 kona grips they want to trade for a great (8/10) sniff tyre?

Finished, (just to replace the rusty stem bolts). Rode it 30 miles along the Ystwyth trail and had so much fun, took me back to my youth. Will definitely be doing this again. Gonna use this one to commute on the old rail link to Aberystwyth town on sunny days. Nice.

Have the reflector bracket if anyone wants it, also the original front sniff tyre and seat. msg me.
