I’m fairly local (20 miles) and have lots of bikes things on eBay so could start asking a few questions if you want?

But I’d do it on the other frame to avoid suspicion

It might be an idea, as suggested by others, to contact him for a small and cheap item, asking 'I'm local to you, what's your address and is it Ok for me to pop over and pick it up to save messing about with postage'?

Maybe ask for his name so as to save awkwardness at the door.

Than PM me the name and address, mobile number would be good too, tell him you might need guiding in as your Sat Nav ain't too good.

Obviously don't go through with the purchase hehe

I can't do it myself as I'm too far away and it might raise suspicion.

Re: Explosif frame

Good luck trebz. This will be a fantastic result on two counts. 1 , you get the frame back and 2 , the thieving bastard gets nicked. I was randomly browsing evilbay yesterday looking at Kona bits when I spotted the frame and immediately got on the forum . All the guys who helped and advised should be applauded. I love this site. Long may it last. Cheers everyone.

Re:

Like others have said that I wouldn't be surprised if a high percentage of his other stuff has come via myHermes so called lost items.

He didn't even wait a while till he advertised it but if he's been doing this for a long time they get cocky and complacent and that's usually when they get caught.

I hope this works out for you and he gets the correct punishment.

As a buyer though if I had a choice of the 2 same items and one was by myhermes I would opt for the other. I've had items saying I've signed for delivery when I've been at work 30 miles away so I don't trust them.

Wow! not dropped into this thread for a while ... great news on the frame id...well done chaps. Developments are more exciting than an episode of Channel 5's, Police Raids: Caught by Surprise

Or

'Caught by the Gonads' - the story of the short lived barbed wire relay event at the 1956 Olympics.

Re:

Bloody hell this is definitely a thread that needs a 'grab your popcorn before reading' warning!

Have we had any developments as yet Trebz?

I'd never send anything via myherpes for this very reason, but that being said, there are some who work for them who are honest and go the extra mile!

Our local driver for them is really good and I've not had anything disappear with her delivering, but obviously she is only the last link in the chain and it seems things like this happen with the collection drivers or as they go through whatever sorting hubs they have!
