its going to look pretty damn good. personally...i would not bother polishing the frame. it looks pretty good already, and they look better if they are slightly dull, as opposed to mirror polish

The original finish was called 'ball burnished' rather than mirror polished.

I'm changing the chainset on this bike but not sure what to put on middleburn rs7 square taper or middleburn rs8 x type anyone have experience with either set?
 
Looks great - how did you go with the frame??

I'm restoring mine right now. I had the stock components, LX/XT etc, however I'm thinking of going retro mod with the wheels and groupset.
