Another car boot find. Looking very sorry for itself too.

Identical to the Randonneur, a strip and clean ended up with this, Special Products badge on the frame and SPD written on the steerer.

I have retired the Elswick for the parts as the first build was awful!

I've had a good rummage and manages to cobble together the nicest tourer I've built for a while.

Its had a few test rides which have been very positive. Looking forward to a longer wander at the weekend

Another great find LGF!
I really like these tourers and this one has come up a treat. You will have to put up a ride report once you get a few miles in. :)
Enjoy!

Re:

Very nice.
I have a Raleigh 708 tubed frame too. Nice stiff frameset when out the saddle - not always the case on bigger frames.

Thanks Chaps!

It rides better than the rather lovely Ernie Clements I had a while ago. I found it too short and a bit too bendy as much as I tried to make it fit, it had to go. Despite being a smaller than my 'normal' frame the Raleigh is a wee bit longer and stiffer where it needed it.

Hopefully it will hang round a while

I wish I had your car boot....

He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!

*a few tweaks to do today, better brake stop for the front, still not sure on the low pro style of the STX brakeset either.

Will rummage in the parts bin of delight.
