1996 Sintesi Bazooka

I had one of these bikes in the early 2000’s, whilst I was at University. I had the chance to buy another frame about 5 years ago and had to buy it. I’ve had it built up for a few years now, but never rode it…until today.

There’s still a few bits to change on it. I’ve an Orange Sintesi saddle to fit and an MRP chain device. I’ll change the front caliper to a no. 5 caliper half so I don’t need to run a bracket. I’ve got a Goldtec front wheel to fit too, with a D321 rim, but need to do some work to attach a rotor to it.

Spec:

Frame: 1996 Sintesi Bazooka with Risse Jupiter-5 rear shock
Fork: 1998 Marzocchi Z1 BAM
Stem: Tranz X CNC Shorty
Handlebar: Azonic
Brakes: Hope C2 with Pro levers (with correct No1. caliper on rear for pre-IS mounting)
Shifters: Shimano M570 9 Speed
Front Derailleur: Shimano XT M739
Rear Derailleur: Shimano XTR M950
Cassette: Shimano 9 Speed
Cranks: L&M Downhill
Pedals: Rob Warner Base Jump
Rims: Mavic D321 Disc
Hubs: Goldtec Draco front and Goldtec rear (both Red)
Tyres: Continental Vertical 2.3”
Saddle: Azonic
Seatpost: Syncros

Have any pictures of the older one you had?

looks Very nice with the bombers.
I don’t think I have any pictures of my original one. It had White Bros UD forks on it and the Hope brakes with Black calipers. I can’t remember too much more about the spec.

Just a small change this morning, swapping the front caliper half from a no.5 to a no. 3, to remove the need to have a +20mm bracket fitted.
