1996 GT LTS-2

In my frame the bolt, that is holding the bushing is sliding through those threads cleanly, too. I tried different sizes of bolts to fit into that thread, but it seems, it is not metric. I don't have my imperial bolt collection at hand atm, so..
M10 is kind of starting and is enough to pull mine apart. But if yours is really stuck, it might not be enough.

A Scotch pad is way too coarse for polishing, it is probably a preparation step. I polish my GT RTS by applying the metal polish compound with a rag and then wiping it off with a clean rag. It's just tedious work and you better wear nitrile gloves or your hands will become very dirty.

Oh, great job on the repairs. This will come out very nice, no doubt.

I used the 7447 red, think it’s kind of in the middle of the abrasion charts. The bike I picked up hasn’t seen a clean or service for probably 10-15 odd years hence why I’ve gone for that. Attached is a photo to show the before!

I’ll finish the frame with a way lighter method.
