Is the BB spacing okay if you run the NarrowWide in the outer rather than middle position?

I can't as the spider is for a single ring. Only position is as is.

I tried all sorts on mine before I stripped it down, eventually settled on some straight 710mm, but it was my regular ride! When I do a classic rebuild it will be on 585mm flatties...

Yeah as I'm getting older and less supple, narrow, straight bars are a challenge.

when i saw the pic i knew you mounted it because of this exact misleading instruction (has happened to me too once), but it's still wrong (except you're really into spraypants )

So it turns out that BETD sent me the cranks with the wrong spider on, which is why the chainring rubs. They've promised to sort it and I'm not going mad. Happy days!

Made some progress today. Chainset is back from BETD with the correct spider.
XT V's fitted and swapped out the blue bars for some silver Answer Alumite. They're definitely not light, but I think they look much better.
Added some Oury grips and now just waiting on a cassette and chain before I can complete the build.
I know I'm biased, but I think it's looking rather nice.

Finished! Just in time for the Malverns. Really happy with how this turned out. I know the modern mech and shifter will get some frowns, but it rides beautifully!
