1996 Gary Fisher Procaliber

Changed a couple of bits already and I still haven't actually ridden it. 😬
The Judy XC had a bit too much play in the bushings for my liking so swapped for an SL, probably doesn't look quite as nice but function first. 👍
Also changed the tyres, the Conti's look great and would be awesome if there was never any tarmac involved, unfortunately there is and they roll so slow on it, it's demoralising. So on with a Smoke and Dart.
Hopefully I'll get out on it in the morning. 🙂 View attachment 839364
I think I actually prefer the look of the SLs and the contrast with the frame.

Made a few changes. 👍 😁
Wanted the crank and finishing kit for another build. So fitted a Quarz crankset to match the rest, Bontrager bar, stem and for the moment a Zoom post and Ritchey saddle. Also changed the shifter grips for ones that work with a bit of sweat/moisture involved.
Obviously the biggest change is the fork.
I've never tried any sort of linkage fork so we'll see how this works out. Bit of faffing with shims and headsets to get it to fit but now it's on, first impressions are that it's very supple off the top. I'll get out on it over the weekend and see what's what. 👍 😁 _20240619_162501.JPG _20240619_162556.JPG

OCLV, Maguras, Linkage fork...

A man after my own heart :)
It's obviously a winning combination! :)
Seriously though, I love your Trek, it's one of those bikes that I revisit time and again.
I haven't ridden this as much as I should have, one of the nice to have problems that goes with having a few nice bikes I suppose, it's a great bike though, rides beautifully, we'll see if the fork adds something or takes it away over the weekend.
