Thanks for the compliments folks (except for retroroy....just kidding)! Roy actually gave me a new purpose and I was close to leaving the whole retromtb. I met a couple if new friends and with the support of a couple of members I'm back! I would like to finish 3 more builds before the end of this year and have them ready for next seasons show!
WOW!!! three more builds for the show. you really are gunning for me.
and it's probably a good thing ductape doesn't make it up here.
for sure his builds would steal the show.

Roy what's the theme next year?! Aluminum? Cause I am sure I can do something pretty kewl!!

Lovely bike; I´ve a Generation too & it´s a lovely ride.

Are you sure it´s a 1996 model ? in the first pic I notice the Reynolds 725 tubing decal; as per Dekerf says in it´s web:

"1998: The Team SL got a further refinement with the addition of Reynolds 853 chainstays. The Generation also joined the Reynolds family by being constructed of Reynolds 725. The road frame ('Prodigy') was back, also sporting a Reynolds 853 main triangle and chainstays. The most talked about frame for 1998 was the Team ST - the softtail. This frame used a steel spring in the monostay and special chainstays from Ritchey to provide almost an inch of travel on an otherwise hardtail frame."

That's the story from Chris himself. He looked it up on his cardboard tracker.....yeah....cardboard!

Re:

Really nice job... I'd love a Dekerf with the full bar stem/ tuning form combo...

I'll post pictures of my Dekerf rescue frame later...

ringo...would love to see it. Just not too much to go on except for a couple of builds. FMJ had my attention when he did his! Actually he was a huge source of inspiration!

Re:

Not the greatest photo... it's a Team 853...

Straight but it has bizarre damage to the seat tube... It looks like a previous owner popped the thing in a vice forgetting the FD cable stop then crushing it into the frame!

Plan will be to send it over to Chris to see what a seat tube and paint job would set me back...
