1995 Trek 970 ZX

Old School Hero
Recently acquired a 1995 Trek 970 ZX, while in generally decent condition, there is significant rust to the underside of the bottom bracket and chainstay bridge. I was wondering whether to break the bike and sell the parts separately or keep whole & move on pointing out the state of the frame. It's True Tempered OX COMP III Triple Butted Heat Treated Chromoly so would be a shame to scrap, and the bike is almost completely original spec though the griftshift have been swapped out for regular shifters. How much is the bike worth in it's current condition and how much might the frame & forks be worth on their own. Is there the option to treat it, remove the bubbling paint and douse in WD40? Feedback would be appreciated.

Not much hope for that frame. The amount of rust around the BB and that rotted through bridge makes me think the bottom of the frame has been full of water for quite some time. I don't like throwing things away but if it was mine i would be sending the frame to the recycler. XT parts are worth keeping along with the Tomac bar ends.
