1995 Rocky Mountain Vertex

Saw this frame going pretty cheap on Ebay, decided I didn't need another project and moved on. A few days later it appeared again, I was fairly surprised no one had bought it and thought sod it. As you do.
Turned up the other day. Nice frame, it's simple, no bells and whistles, pretty good condition, just scuffs/scratches, nothing nasty and it's light at 1500g with the seat collar and chainsuck plate. Got it built this morning mostly, the intended Sachs build got a bit sidetracked when I decided I really had to put the Turbines on this. So might as well fit the stuff I see it ending up with now. Sacrificed the Fisher for a bit.
Needs a 31.8mm top pull M901 front mech if any one has one going spare?
Also stole the saddle and post off the Heckler. Need a nice 26.8mm post and whatever I get will determine what bar/stem to look for.

Been out on it a couple of times now.
Couple of changes have been made.
Changed the wheels and tyres, saddle and stem. Fits better but would like a nicer stem. Rides really nicely, picks up speed quickly and feels really solid in a good way. Weighs in at bang on 24lbs or 10.89kg.

Mavic ceramic/Hope wheels back on with a tan Smoke and Dart. Ceramic brake pads. Judy SL allowed me to get rid of the headset spacers. It's closer to the T.O. spec than original. I would like to change the finishing kit. Nothing wrong with Titec but it does seem to end up on all my builds, might be nice to have something different? I like the idea of a Syncros bar/stem and seatpost but I suspect a nice 110mm x 15° Cattlehead in black might take a while?

I won't lie, it was bought on a whim because it was cheap and filled the aluminium hardtail shaped hole in my collection.
I have fallen for it though, it's a fantastic ride and I think it looks great! M901 front mech is incoming. Then finishing kit and I reckon this one's a keeper.

Definitely agree with the stem and seatpost. The stem seems a bit smooth for it, maybe a stem and seatpost that has the welds showing?

Yeah the stem's my bugbear, it doesn't look good in my opinion. I'm thinking Syncros because A: Canadian and B: The slanted top cap will match nicely with the top of the seat tube.
