i thought i would start a thread for this bike.
i had been after a nice ti hardtail for years. and the merlin was the one i always aspired to.
this is still incomplete, i have been trying to find parts for a few weeks now.
to be honest i wasnt going to put that much effort into the build,
but i think this frame deserves it.
so far i have an
18" merlin titanium frame. with new decals.
pewter chris king headset.
xtr m900 rear mech,
dean ti seatpost,
race face ti stem,
150g bar.
xtr m900 chainset.
hope ti glide hubs on mavic & bonty rims.
i am trying to find a silver hope ti glide front hub.
and i am currently waiting for the following parts.
xtr m900 brake / shifter units,
xtr m900 cant brakes.
xtr 8 speed cassette.
tune ti bottom bracket.
use / pashley rigid fork.
and i still need to source a correct xtr m900 front mech, grips etc.
a few years ago i would have probably been putting ano stuff all over it.
but i really want to go with a classy understated look.
i thought long and hard about what fork to use for this bike,
i had a few good suggestions, but in the end i had the chance to buy a
use / pashley rigid fork. and i think it just looks so nice.
i will be updating this as more parts come in. but so far i am very happy
with the parts i am going with.
