Anyway, Coyote was run by Steve Fenton BITD (he then distributed WTB). I'd say your frame is a 2/3 the later ones (4 and 5) had the square chain stays. I'm riding a 5 at the mo.

My brother and I had catalogue specials (mine was a pink Townsend) that weighed more than a thing that weighed a lot. By christ. My brother had some cash at the time and was looking for as light as possible for as little money and came across the HT1 (not painted the HT1, just polished alloy). He brought his with XT and got a deal (apparently) on mine, which came with STX-RC. I got IFC from my brother bless him! No suspendsion in those days, rigid forks, but it was light and quick.

I rode that frame with various kit on it for over fifteen years and loved every minute of it. Bit shagged now, Its hanging on the wall with a set of handle bars that snapped in half when i was flying down a hill. That hurt, but the frame was OK.

I'll really loved that bike. If you ever sell yours, please knock on my door first or I'll scream and scream and scream!

The new cranks. Dura-Ace 7410. Light! And a ti BB too.

After a long debate we decided to try yellow cable outers.

The saddle is just great. Very light and very comfy. If someone has another one like this, please contact me!

I recently bought a pair of Formula R1 brakes and though I'd try using them with this frame. Surprisingly it worked out great, I used a a2z frame adapter.

Nice bike, and good to see the build evolving over time.

In deciphering the information stamped into the frame, I hope I can add to what Anthony has already suggested.

Fairly Bike Manufacturing Company is a Taiwan-based assembly factory. They paint and assemble in their facilities, but do not build their own frames. They are not owned by Giant.

Alfton is the trade name of Fung Tien Electric Co., Ltd., a Taiwan-based frame maker, and a long-time supplier partner of Fairly Bike. They delivered the frame to Fairly, who finished and assembled it, either into a frameset or a complete bike.

The build is not period correct by any means but the bike is very ridable now. I'm hoping the frame will stay happy this way.
