1995 Claud Butler Titanius White Industries FINISHED pg21

Re:

No idea, just asking the question.

Cost? Lack of available Ti welders? Saves having to heat treat the frame post welding?

Might allow the lugs to be made by specialists, and the frame tubes / lugs assembled by non specialists...?

All good musings....

But here’s a couple of the previous owners photos that show up the colour difference more clearly; 6B0E5665-246B-458B-AB67-220B257EADEC.jpeg CB3E4164-EE2A-46DC-B6BC-7410ACC05106.jpeg

No idea about the metals but am looking forward to the build especially if your previous threads are anything to go by.

Out of curiosity, is there any mention of the frames from CB or do you only know about them through the three above?

Cheers Mk1... As for my knowledge of these frames, it’s not much beyond what been posted previously here on RB, I’ve heard rumours over the years of a Ti Claud but never seen one, so I always dismissed them as being the ‘97 Ti coloured Cape Wrath...my gut feeling is as I said earlier that they may have been a short run trial that then got pushed out to the further reaches of Europe. As I’ve never seen or heard of one in the U.K. ever!
Even if the others fell apart, this one feels very solid.... can’t be anymore dangerous than a C-26 surely?

(& a damn site cheaper to build :xmas-wink: )

Interesting. Will build up properly nice.

Never tried polishing Titanium. But the look or hue of main tubes reminded of a custom road bike I’d seen;

That’s shiny..... couldn’t find a mention of what metal it’s made from though..

Oh... and then there was four! Well done LGF, get yourself a bucket of grits :xmas-wink: So is this one Dutch owned?

Down tube/head joint looks like it went west though…..

And I wonder why they show the 1995 Cat front cover? It’s not in there :|

And I wonder what BAL or 3AL 2.5v refers to? Claud_Butler_titanus_1994.jpg main1147.jpg
