Good evening Retrobikers, its been a while since I posted a new build, but I finally had a spare window of opportunity to post up a new addition to the Smiff Stable, and for once its not an Orange lol
Welcome to my GT RTS-2, what started as just a frame with a rather dodgy rear shock, basically the noleeen had been mounted using some rather course bolts which over time had elongated the shock mounts to a point where sadly it could not be saved. A shout out on the wanted page and Ishaw came to my rescue and parted with one of his rather lovely noleen piggy back shocks and mounting hardware. From there the build gained great momentum and after digging around in the cave it became mated up to a Deore LX 1 x 8 Groupset, Kore Bars, Stem, Onza Bar Ends and Ritchey Grips. Titanium Flite Saddle, Promax Seatpost, Mavic/Deore Wheels with Terra 1 tyres and some early Rock Shox SiD Forks. Surprisingly the build finally became complete on the evening of its maiden trip out the following day at a small gathering in Thetford Forest (Pics to follow) anyway to cut along story short minor on-the-fly fettling was needed and it took in the 16 or so miles with ease. Oh and on the day we didn't just have my RTS, but two others turned up to make it a triple-triple-triangle gathering lol. Let me know what you think.

Jussa :)

Nice! They are great looking bikes, and that looks like a lovely build.

What's the ride like on them?
Hi, it’s really nice, the way the rear is set up you don’t get the pogo effect so it behaves like a hardtail but with rear suspension if that makes sense? I rode it just over 16’miles on trails and it felt really planted, coped well with the rock gardens and technical bits at our trail centre.

LOL if you have any extra cool extra large comfy vintage Jerseys for sale keep me in mind LOL
I can do the same back...
