If you've had that since new it would definitely be cool to restore it with higher end components! powder coating is awesome but I am not sure if you could get the orginal fade etc.
Ill ask my graphic guy what he would charge for another set (white / silver in lieu of Silver / black)..there would be no front fork decal and you have to carefully remove and reuse the headbadge with a heat gun.
The paint job is expensive to replicate properly. Trek used solvent based paint with lead...difficult to find nowadays, and there is a silver base coat with candy on top.
But if you've had the bike forever who cares what it costs!
Anyway, I just went to the painter to carefully mark the position of the decals and match the colour...it should be dead on..I am sure I can get the decals on the frame +/- 0.5mm from where they are now... We are going to: media blast, etch, prime, fill, sand, prime, base, candy and clear the bike, let it harden, then install the decals, then reclear a few times..this way if we mess the decals up, we can pull them off without risking pulling the paint off!..
