Hello Community,

I am pleased to share this (new to me) 1994 Serotta Colorado ATi frame that just arrived in the mail. I will begin throwing parts at it soon, but first I will check frame alignment and dropout alignment plus inside of the headset and bottom bracket with an endoscope all sometime early next week. If anything is curious with the endoscope I’ll post pictures.

Tentative plans are loosely along the lines of XTR m900 and a little bit of carbon sprinkled here and there with not too much anodization. Originally I wanted to do Campagnolo OR but leaning toward this is a bit cost prohibitive and time restrictive waiting for decent condition parts at a fair price to come available. For a front fork, likely a Rockshox Mag 21 SL with the Ti bits (if I can ever find one at a non-eBay price). Regarding the frame the welds and thought put into this frame and design are a thing to admire. Quite an interesting frame and geometry too.

Out of pure curiosity, I weighed some frames for comparison. Weight without the Chris King headset is right at 1.3 kg ( 2.86 lbs ). Interestingly, I also have a 1993 Trek 9900 OCLV Mk1 similarly sized that weighs 1.48 kg ( 3.26 lbs ). Of note are the massive differences in wall thickness of the tubing on the OCLV; about 5x thicker than the ATi. It´s butted titanium.

Yeah, the hint is there in the name!

This is a lovely frame tho.

One I want for myself very much.

I feel like I remember it doing the rounds either on here, FB or eBay, as that turquoise CK (which needs to go) seems familiar too.

What size is it, out of curisoity?

Oh, and do let me know when you decide it's horrible and better to just move on to another willing sucker... ;)

I actually like the turquoise headset . The size is either a 48 or 51. I am not exactly sure, but I think more so a 48 - M or M/L.

If I decide the frame is horrible, I will keep you posted!

Edit: Frame is a 51. measured the top tube per the Serotta diagram I found in the 1994 year catalog. Top tube is 59 cm C-to-C.
