Currently in transit thanks to the generosity of @CassidyAce picking it up for me.

This is the third one I’ve had, my original one when I was a lad and lived in Plymouth, a second was a frame from @themountie which was a tad too small and now a large complete bike with the maxshock forks. Not the most desirable bike but the first “good” bike I had and was devastated when it was stolen.

I have two plans, clean it up, sort the forks and replace the stem or.......build it up with a complete dx groupset which is almost what I did with the original but keep the maxshocks instead of rigid. I only did this originally as I bent and cracked the originals and couldn’t afford another new set.

Anyhow, here it is from the advert and then before stripped and boxed

Hopefully it’ll be at the malverns on the retrobike stand

Bit of an update

Cleaned, scrubbed and cleaned the frame and forks. Needs some paint renovation and polish but it ain't no wall hanger so not going mad. Rebuilt the forks with some modified rst elastomers and they're stiff but much better than before. The y may move nicely once fitted.....

Fitted some purple bolts

Headset to clean after a brew, clean the bb threads and refit the super smooth un51 that came out and see if I've enough post or order a 26.2 use shim........

Decided not to repaint the fork brace black as this appears to have been silver from new hut did fit new longer bolts. I'll find some more course wire wool or foil to clean the remaining rust on the crown. No rush though
