They are out there dude, I've had two in the past year, one 27.0 and one 27.2 of which someone had cut down to 300mm aaarrrgghhh!
That's the first i've seen any Ti post longer than 330mm. I've never heard of anyone mention any length aside from 330mm. The 93, 96 and 99 Syncros catalogue only mentions 330mm length available. No mention of any post being sized as 355, ti or alum, as marked on your post. :?

Re: 1994 Rocky Mountain Blizzard... Tange Struts Time!

Well I'm glad I took a picture then! I still have the 27.2 x 355 but like I said some doofus has cut it to 300mm. The engraved original size is still visible though.

I sold the other one to a forum member only last year.

This pic shows just how much longer it is than the 300mm version :)

Ooooo cool! Side note, I have a very nice Syncros 26.8 Ti post kicking around... It's up for grabs if anyone is interested =P

Re: 1994 Rocky Mountain Blizzard... Tange Struts Time!

I could be keen... 330mm I take it? ;) I'll send you a pm.

Re: 1994 Rocky Mountain Blizzard... UPDATE - modern XTR BUILD

Sooo... I have made some changes... As you can see...

I figure that the tange struts was too retro for the frame... This frame should have a rigid fork but I think this one suits it nicely.

I went with a new turbine HS, bar, stem combo... I would do the seatpost too but I don't think they make it in 27.0.. I will swap in a race face XY when I find one but for now this will do...

The shifters are 3x9 XTR m970

The rear mech is a rapid rise m960... Not sure if it will work properly with non-rapid rise shifters... But I will find out soon... =)

I wanted an xtr m961 front but I don't think they make it in 28.6 and I don't want to use shims so this m900 will have to do for now

Brakes will be xtr m960 v's...

Brake levers are in the mail... I am going to try out the extra lite copies called AEST... They are only $50 shipped on eBay... If I end up not liking them then I'll go with avid ultimate... But for $50 these are worth a go...

Feel free to give your suggestions or opinions... I'm open to criticism or suggestions =)

The 960 XTR group was the peak of prettiness for components. The crank and derailleurs are the best looking ever IMO. Great looking ride.

Thx! I agree, the m960 crank was IMO the coolest xtr crank ever made

I will be swapping the crank over as soon as I am able to find one for a good price and if I can find some blue anno rings for it.. They exist bust hard to find...

Re: 1994 Rocky Mountain Blizzard... UPDATE - modern XTR BUILD

Question... for anyone following this... it's been asked many times... Does this mean that the frame was built / welded up in Canada or that the bike parts were bolted onto the frame in Canada?

Thx!

Re: 1994 Rocky Mountain Blizzard... UPDATE - modern XTR BUILD

I'm not an expert by far, but I believe the '94 Blizzard was made off shore and bolted together in Canada. A good indicator might be the serial number underneath the bottom bracket. you can easily distinguish a machined serial number from one that is stamped in by hand. A short number would also indicate built in Canada. Somewhere else on the forum someone suggested that the direction of the serial could also be a clue: Digits in the direction of both wheels means off shore produced, digits in the direction of your legs means Canada built.

Now it's time for other members to mention all the exceptions to this or the mistakes in my story.. :)
