1994 Rockhopper Comp Handlebar Conversion

Hello All,
I have a nice old rockhopper, and I am looking to try and shorten its reach. Very long. It has a threadless one inch stem. My profile design adaptor does not work in this situation. Am I stuck with this stem or can I get one inch threadless stems?
As an aside, I seem to have luck buying old bikes with difficult standards, I have a Gary Fisher with a 1 3/8 quill stem, it too did not work with my still new and increasingly lonely profile designs quill to threadless adaptator.

You can get an adaptor sleeve so that you can use a 1/18 stem on on 1 inch fork. I might have one kicking around, i’ll Look later
