Just need a good quality pic so I can redraw it, doesn't look very intricate. Did carry on looking through google images and ebay last night but didn't find anything.

All the German places I messaged for an email address to contact Shannon have drawn a blank, never guess it's the 21st century. Messaged AC to see if they have any info on the chain guide. Messaged Manitou via facebook to see if they have any decent pics of the bike, had previously just used the Hayes contact form which goes to support and then probably the bin.

As it stands the chain guide may well be the stumbling block, not found a match. If it does turn out to be a prototype then not sure what to do. Still build it with an AC guide you can find or is that a bit pointless?

Thanks for the link Thias, looks like a fun thing to browse through. Saw the the frameset was 5950 marks, which was about £2500 in '94.

Was looking at stems earlier. To me the one in the photo looks like it has 2 bolts on the left hand side forward of the steerer. Had thought they were welds but must be bolts as they're no where else to be seen. Almost like a Race Face but that came in later.

Hayes/Manitou/Answer..... support said would love to be of help but they haven't any records of the bike but cool project and would like to see pics once it's done.

Ah thanks very much. Got the lettering pretty much right, couldn't make out that rhino though. What a strange thing to use.

Was wondering what a slightly less silly 52t chainring would look like instead of the 56t. Quick calc and quick drawing came up with this.

Might have been said before but for anyone who wants to know how to calculate the diameter of a chainring it's (tooth pitch * teeth) / pi. Pitch is 12.7mm and pi is same as it's always been 3.1415. So a 52t is 210mm in diameter and a 56t is 226mm. Which makes the 56t roughly a tooth height larger than the 52.
