Retro Newbie
Just finished building my 1994 Kilauea.
Started off as a $50 frame I bought from Facebook Marketplace and it just snowballed from there.
Added a disc mount w/brace, removed V-brake bosses and welded on hydraulic friendly cable routing. Powdercoated it metallic green and went with 1997 reproduction decals.
Build list:
Fork - P2 disc 430mm A2C
Wheels - Light Bicycle carbon 26" w/Koozer XM490 Pro hubs
Tires - Billy Bonkers 2.25"
Handlebars - Surly Sunrise
Groupset - SRAM NX Eagle w/165mm crank arms
Brakes - SRAM Level TL 180mm front/160mm rear
Pedals - Race Face Atlas
Grips - Race Face Grippler
Stem - Race Face Turbine 60mm
Saddle - WTB Silverado
Seatpost - Sakae TCO 27.0mm
12.2KG as it's currently set up. Any recommendations for carbon forks and a aluminum moto-style bar? The Surly Sunrise is a boat anchor!
