1994 kona canti problem

hi could anyone help me

i have a set of 1994 kona cantis i think they come on all 94 bikes from the lavadome through to the explisif and more

i have a explosif build in process and i am having problems with the cantis locking up they have 2 different set ups it looks like

first one set have a larger hole through the spring cover

second one set has tab washer that has a small hole for the spring

i will take some pics if it helps
