Hello guys, I'm referbing one of my early Marin's, this time my Titanium FRS.

What is the best thing to clean the frame? It has marks on it that I'd like to clean up and generally make it look fresher.

Also, it looks pretty much original, period XTR M900 (amazing condition) however it has Manitou Four's on the back and Manitou Three's on the front which doesn't correlate with the 1994 Marin catalogue although the frame seems to match the 1994 catalogue picture. Any helpful advice appreciated.

Also, I have a very early 1993 20.5 inch Marin Titanium FRS frame only for sale soon too, if you're after one?

The full bike (not for sale):

Re:

Nice bike.
Clean frame with a light scotch pad to keep the mat finish to the ti, seems to work on the Ti frames I have seen.
Regarding the rear suspension, I don't know much about the marin frs, possibly a warranty replacement rear end?
I have a set of manitou 4s spare, I have been after a set of 3's to match the rear on my manitou FS if you fancy a deal?

I think masha on the forum has been looking for a marin frs Ti, might be worth a PM

Re: Re:

Thanks mate, I'll give that a go. I might even leave the decals as they are to give it a 'used mountain bike' patina

Re:

I haven't tried it on your bike's finish ... but 0000 grade steel wool drenched in WD40 removes marks, scuffs and helps clean up paintwork.

Use very light pressure and run it along the length of the tube. When you're happy with the finish give the whole bike a very hot thorough wash to get the WD40 off.

Is the frame for sale a 19 or a 20.5? If it's a 19 I'd be interested to know more. :D
