Hello,

Ive had this for a while and have been basically recreating my 1995 race bike with some 94/95 VGC/NOS retro bling...well apart from the Spin wheels as they were on my wish list, so I had to settle for an anodised blue Hope Ti wheelset.

I purchased this from the original owner, it was pretty much OEM spec apart from XT V's, Judy SL's and some Syncros riser bars. The original owner had only ridden the bike 8 times and the Judy's have only been ridden once due to losing interest in riding, it then got put under a cover in his spare room and not touched until I purchased it.

Nothing on this bike has been restored as all parts have either been VGC or NOS.

So it wasn't just sat in my workshop this bike is now on display at my friends shop Brink Cycleworks in Bedfordshire, UK

Lovely looking bike. GT's just look so right with Spins to my eyes.

Great job.

Thank you Factory Jackson.

I always wanted Spin wheels back in the day so couldn't resist on this build...they were unfortunately out of my budget back in the day, so I had to settle for a blue Hope Titanium wheelset with snowflaked spokes.

Cheers

Hey Hatch.

'Had to settle for blue Hope Titanium wheelset with snowflaked spokes'. Can't complain at that back when we were younger eh?

Just about finished my RTS. Just some decent wheels to sort. Very tempted to go the Spin route.

Here's mine

Every time I look t these gt rts I just get the sound of one flying past me on a wide downhill section. That's what used to happen every time me and a ate went out, me on my Raleigh burner and him on his RTS throwing stones up on his way past.
Ahhh memories.

Ha ha no shouldn't complain really.

I did have a look at your RTS, it looks awesome and I love the Judy DH's!!

You sure thats a 1994 model as I've not seen that rear brake rocker before?

Cheers

Hatch

Yep, 99.9% sure it's a 1994. It had an LX groupset, same as yours albeit with silver cranks. Mind you, the shock is a piggy back, so that does shed some doubt.

The rocker is a home made affair kindly sent by Ishaw.
It works fine, but for originality i'm looking to source the correct one, or have one made up using and original.

cheers
Chris

I'd say it's a 1995 mate as back in the day I snapped 3 of the 1994 ones like mine in 1995 and always hoped that Caratti would replace it with the silver 95 RTS-2, but alas they never did :-(

The 1994 UK/Euro RTS-2 came in the "titanium" painted finish (same as mine), was spec'd with the black M560 LX cranks/silver chainrings (silver M563 LX cranks with black rings were 95), it didn't have secondary bottle cage mounts above the shock and had a single post mount above the rear canti mounts that caused an obscene amount of drag when used with canti's and was super fiddly to set up.
