Needs to be good condition and sensibly priced, not interested in NOS Tax...

Good plan, but "early next year" and "not NOS price" are kind of incompatible criterions. I have been saving for 10 (!) years, still missing 1 or 2 parts

Jeezus, 10 years! Well i've managed to get cantis, bullet shifters, seatpost, pedals but it's the mecs that seem to be hard to come by! Anyhow, i'll keep on the hunt lol

Have you gotten the 94 cantis Record (identical to Icarus 93) or the 93/92 cantis? The rear mech was hard to come by, also cassette, and BB. Still missing seatpost.. Which frame are you building?
