1993 Specialized Stumpjumper

Retro Newbie
I'm ebaying a 1993 Specialized Stumpjumper for my dad. It ends at 8pm tonight (late notice, I know). At the time of writing it was at £34. We are both very sad to see it go, but a bike like this deserves a good home!

As an aside, it is actually lighter than my modern XC bike, despite having a flexstem (see cool wall for June)!

Raced in the 1993 national series.

Size is medium - 18".

Girvin flexstem, Onza bar ends, USE galvanised seatpost, new chromo viscount saddle.

LX rear mech, DX front. Shimano 175mm chainset - 24/34/46. Shimano shifters. 7sp block.

1" rigid front forks - have slight dent in right stanchion, but work fine.

Paint is in the condition that you would expect of a 1993 well used mountain bike. Bit of surface corrosion.

Shimano Deore v-brakes, avid levers.

Specialized enduro rear tyre on Mavic X 221 rim, laced onto Deore (possibly DX) hub.

Bontrager Jones AcX kevlar bead front tyre on Mavic X 221 rim laced onto Shimano DX hub.

I'm happy for you to pick it up from me in Nottingham, and accept cash!

mines got the john machin sticker on it too

Did you buy it yourself? If so, were you part of team custard? That's who my dad used to race for - they were sponsored by John Machin and linked to Melton Olympic.

And wowsers, just looked at your collection of bikes! The Stumpy and Pace are particularly nice.
